Graduates of the Advanced Skills & Strategies course can now use this towards their application for AGRA Membership
The joint Pharos Tutors and Society of Genealogists Family History Skills & Strategies (Advanced) Distance Learning Course has now been recognised by the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA). This means that graduates who wish to become AGRA Members will find it easier to pass the rigorous membership requirements. These requirements set the Association aside from the other organisations of genealogical researchers and ensures that its members are the best in the field.
Pharos Tutors joins the Institute of Genealogical and Heraldic Studies and the University of Strathclyde whose graduates are already recognised in this way. It acknowledges the very high standards shown by Pharos students who took the Course.
Antony Marr, who chairs AGRA’s Board of Assessors, said: “We were very impressed by the standard of the students' work and look forward to receiving applications for membership.”
Pharos’s Principal Helen Osborn said: “This honour shows how good our students are and is a reward for their hard work over many months.”
