Members of AGRA Council with the prestigious medal awarded to AGRA by IHGS earlier this year, now framed and ready for display
AGRA are proud to have been awarded the Julian Bickersteth Memorial Medal for 2018 by the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS). This prestigious award is made in recognition of notable and exemplary contributions to family history studies.
The medal was presented on the occassion of AGRA's 50th Anniversary Reception and Dinner at Inner Temple on 12 May 2018. The Rt Hon the Earl of Lytton (President of IHGS) made the presentation, and the medal was received on behalf of the Association by Sharon Grant, chair of AGRA.
On behalf of the IHGS, Dr Richard Baker commented "It is most appropriate that the award is made in the year in which AGRA celebrates its half-century as the professional body for genealogy."
