AGRA's well-attended event already resulting in applications to join
AGRA kicked off the Association's 50th birthday celebrations in January 2018 by holding an Open Day at the Society of Genealogists aimed at anyone currently working as a professional genealogist or planning on doing so in the near future.
The day was was fully booked and the audience included both established profesional genealogists and students at the start of their genealogy careers.
During the morning there was the opportunity of a free tour of the Society library. After a buffet lunch the event was opened by AGRA Chair Sharon Grant. AGRA Council Member Les Mitchinson spoke about the advantages of joining AGRA, and Antony Marr of the Board of Assessors de-mystified the application process for Membership and Associateship. Finally, AGRA Member Celia Heritage gave valuable advice on running a successful genealogy practice.
After an enjoyable and thought-provoking day, AGRA is pleased to report that a number of applications have already begun to arrive from those who attended.
