I am a professional genealogist based in Lincolnshire and became interested in family history after taking part in a school project. I began researching seriously in the 1980s and visited many churches to view parish records and graveyards as many records were still with the church at that time. I remember buying a second-hand microfiche reader and ordering the IGI from LDS in America. I used to record my ancestors on index cards and hand-draw all my trees – how the genealogy world has changed since then.

I have continued to develop my skills over the last 40 years alongside a career in Arts & Museums, which took me all around Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire & Rutland and included family research as part of a wider role. I spent five years as the Collections Officer for the Royal Lincolnshire Regimental Museum, so I have an interest in the Lincolnshire Regiment, particularly the WW1 period.

I am now working as a genealogist with a particular focus on Lincolnshire & Rutland families but also the Lincolnshire Regiment and the wider Military in WW1 & WW2.

I am a member of the Society of Genealogists and a member of several family history societies in the East Midlands, and an AGRA Associate.
