I am a qualified genealogist with over 30 years experience in historical research. Having a degree in Medieval and Modern History, I've always been interested in local and family history and what started initially as a hobby researching my own family history and those of friends and family has developed into an enjoyable professional business.
I provide a range of research services which can vary from a quick record check to researching a full family history as far back as records are available. Various family tree packages are also available which make ideal gifts. All research is tailored to the specific needs of the client and is discussed at the outset to ensure their requirements are fully understood.
I specialise in research in the counties of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Bedfordshire and my thorough knowledge of local record sources and familiarity with the local area means that clients can rely on receiving a through and cost effective service. I also regularly visit the Bodleian Library at Oxford and the National Archives at Kew. Most of my clients are private individuals but I also carry out research for commerical companies and various heritage societies.
If you've wondered how old your house is or who may have lived there in the past, a house history can provide a fascinating insight into the story of a house, showing when it may have been built, what changes have been made and uncovering information about the people who also called it home.
As a qualified house historian (I hold a PGC in Architectural History) as well as a genealogist I have the expertise to carry out a full house history of a property including a structural overview as well as documentary research to show who owned the house and the previous occupants. Alternatively if you are just interested in one particular aspect of a property's history I can limit the research accordingly. Each history is bespoke and tailored to a client's specific requirements. The history can be produced in different formats including beautifully illustrated house history coffee table style books.
The research you carried out for the meeting was especially appreciated and has allowed us to follow whole new lines of research we hadn't realised existed

Wow I am stunned and amazed – I can’t thank you enough! This is where, sometimes, an amateur is reminded what a professional can do. I’m just thrilled to see more of this story
