I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Genealogical, Heraldic and Palaeographic Studies from the University of Strathclyde and am currently completing further professional development through Pharos Tutors. I have over 20 years experience researching family history and use parish registers, census records, probate collections, and more — both online and through on-site archive research in Norfolk, Suffolk, and London.
Discover the story of your ancestors with expert family tree research tailored to you. Whether you're just beginning your journey or need support with a specific research challenge, I offer comprehensive genealogy services across the UK and beyond.
As a professional genealogist based in Norfolk, I specialise in tracing families across generations, and uncovering long-lost relatives and try to resolve problems you come across in your research.
Every family is different — and so is every project. All family history research is fully tailored to suit your needs, interests, and budget. Whether you want to focus on one surname, trace a specific family branch, explore military or occupational history, or create a keepsake for a loved one, I’ll work with you to design a personalised genealogy project that fits your goals.
Before any research begins, I offer a free one-hour consultation to understand what you’re looking for and how best to approach it. You’ll receive regular updates throughout the project, with clear information about costs and research progress — so you stay in control at every step.
Although I’m based in Norfolk, I can conduct family tree research across England, Scotland, Wales, and internationally. I regularly visit Norfolk Record Offie, Suffolk Archives, and major repositories such as The National Archives in Kew and The London Archives (formerly London Metropolitan Archives), allowing me to access original records that aren’t always available online. These in-person visits often uncover rare or overlooked material that adds to your family story.
Many clients choose to present their completed project as a genealogy gift for birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions — a thoughtful and lasting way to connect with your heritage.
Each project concludes with a detailed genealogy report, including all discoveries, source references, archive visits, and geographic areas searched. The report is designed to be easy to understand and enjoyable to share with family, while also supporting further research should you wish to continue.
I offer one-on-one support via phone or Zoom, so you can ask questions. The process is fully collaborative and designed around your preferences.
I also provide family history talks and presentations, available in person across Norfolk or online for audiences throughout the UK and internationally. These sessions are ideal for genealogy groups, U3A, WI, historical societies, and more. Popular topics include getting started with family history, women in the suffrage movement, and tracing UK migration through personal stories.
In addition to research services, I write regularly for family history magazines and local publications, keeping up to date with the latest techniques, resources, and trends in genealogy.
If you’re ready to begin your family history journey, explore your ancestry, or book a talk for your group, get in touch today to arrange your free consultation. Together, we’ll create a custom research project that brings your family’s story to life.

I’m very pleased with the work carried out by Debbie Bradley to help me discover my family history. Debbie was very professional, thoughtful and prompt in all her correspondence with me. The report she produced came with a family tree, copies of original documents, photos and detailed explanations of the information presented. The report really brought my family history to life.
