Kerrywood Research is a genealogy and family history research service specialising in London families up to about 1920.

With a degree from the University of Cambridge and a postgraduate qualification in Family History, I have more than 20 years' professional experience of helping people with research.

My main focus is on locating and researching individual ancestors, problem-solving, and overcoming brickwalls. I visit all the main London archives regularly, including the National Archives at Kew, The London Archives and Westminster Archives Centre, as well as the smaller local studies libraries. I am on the National Archives' list of approved Independent Researchers. I served on AGRA Council between 2022 and 2025.

As a full-time professional genealogist, I am experienced in a wide range of research areas. I have a particular interest in London workhouse and poor law records, and also in criminal ancestors. With specialist skills in palaeography, I can read and interpret medieval and early modern documents in many styles of handwriting, in both English and Latin.
