Hello I am Kate, a genealogist and researcher based in Birmingham in the West Midlands.
My passion for family history started as a teenager and I have been researching family trees for nearly thirty years. After a rewarding career in the RAF, I decided to dedicate more time to helping other people research their family histories and as a student of the Institute for Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS), I have enhanced and consolidated my skills.
Situated just outside Birmingham, I am conveniently placed to visit the major archives of the West Midlands, in Birmingham, Worcester, Warwick, and Stafford, and the smaller collections such as those in Coventry and Stratford upon Avon. I can also carry out research throughout the UK through online sources. I can also travel to the National Archives and Libraries in London and will consider research further afield.
I offer a range of services, from research into a specific person or family mystery, to a range of packages researching particular lines and constructing family trees. I particularly enjoy delving into dusty old documents and can carry out archive look up services, photographing sources or help with academic research. As a volunteer gravehunter for Findagrave, I am also happy to find and photograph those elusive headstones.
Please visit my website or drop me an e-mail to find further details of how I can help you.
Kate.

My husband and brothers had been trying for years to find more information on my late fathers time spent as a prisoner of war in Poland and just kept coming up against a brick wall.
With the little information we had we passed this to Kate and was astounded how she was able to not only find out his regiment and rank but also the actual camp he was in with dates of capture and rescue.
Kate then went further and found the names and birth / death dates of all my fathers siblings , which was amazing as we had lost touch with them all.
I thoroughly recommend Kate and will be definitely using her services to follow my mother’s line .

Kate did a brilliant job of pulling together the immediate history of my Dad's family. I learnt loads about their move to bham and it was all clearly presented with lots of great details.

Kate has been gathering archival sources for me over the past few months. She is forensic in her searches, super efficient, and very responsive to emails. I am delighted to recommend her!
