A Qualified Genealogist who brings the past to life in a beautifully modern way.

Building on a lifelong interest in history and hobby in genealogy, I left my former career in Marketing and retrained as a Genealogist in 2019, qualifying with the Post Graduate Certificate in Genealogy, Paleography and Heraldry at the University of Strathclyde. I have been working as a Genealogist and House Historian ever since.

I am based in Essex so am often to be found in Archives in Essex, London, Kent and Suffolk but also take on projects further afield , both nationally and internationally.

I offer a variety of services which can be tailored to your specific needs. You could opt for a comprehensive, multi-generation Family Tree package or I can work on an hourly basis to investigate specific questions you may wish to answer over a pre- agreed or open ended amount of time. If you have already carried out research of your own, I can also assist if you are struggling to uncover that elusive piece of information which is holding you back.

I offer complete House History packages, providing a detailed narrative report about the people who trod your floorboards before you, the property itself and land on which it was built

I contribute to local magazines, write and carry out research for authors and community groups, as well as giving talks.

I am also working with property developers to unearth the history of sites and houses they are redeveloping for the pubic record and offer a service to Estate Agents to carry out research for houses they are selling.

The high professional standards I garnered from my previous career are applied to my genealogy business and I aim to present my reports in a fresh, modern style. Everything I undertake is evidence based, fully referenced and transparent. I provide a Contract and Client Brief at the outset to ensure you know what to expect from me and I provide topline progress reports throughout.
