I provide professional genealogical and house history research for clients across Hampshire, West Sussex and beyond.
Whether you are interested in discovering more about your family history or uncovering the story of your house, I offer accurate, thorough and individually tailored research.
My family history research has included a wide range of occupations and backgrounds, from agricultural labourers and shoemakers to members of the Royal Navy and British Army. I enjoy tackling complex genealogical problems, piecing together evidence from a variety of archival sources to reconstruct the lives of past generations.
I also specialise in house history research, investigating properties ranging from Victorian terraces and historic rectories to 17th-century thatched cottages. By combining documentary evidence with local historical sources, I help reveal how homes and the people who lived in them have changed over time.
Based on the Hampshire–West Sussex border, I regularly undertake research throughout southern England. However, family history rarely remains within county boundaries, and my research has followed families across the UK, from Somerset silk weavers who settled in Bethnal Green to families whose journeys took them from Sussex to Devon and then on to Wales. Wherever your ancestors lived, I can help trace their lives and place them in their historical context.
I hold a Diploma in Genealogy from the Institute of Heraldic & Genealogical Studies (IHGS) and, as a member of the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA), I am committed to maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards in genealogical research.
