I specialise in the records of the City of Bristol and the adjoining areas of South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. My particular interest is in wills and I have edited for publication two volumes of early wills, together spanning the period 1383-1603. Additionally I have indexed for publication Bristol Tudor apprenticeship records and have considerable experience of using the City's related Burgess Books. I worked part-time as an archivist at Bristol Record Office from 1977 to 2010 and an familiar with the office's holdings. I was born in Bristol and my own family is local to the area.
