The Northern Network Group took a close look at Yorkshire research in their July meeting
The AGRA Northern Network Group met recently via Zoom, and we were delighted to welcome AGRA Chair, Sarah Pettyfer, to the meeting (as an honorary northern member). She shared the latest news from Council.
As the northern group covers such a large area, our meetings going forward (until exhausted) will provide opportunity for members to present a talk on their specialist region: Cheshire; Cumbria; Durham; Lancashire split into: Central/East, Liverpool region, Manchester region; Northumberland; Scotland; Wales: North Wales, Central/South Wales; York as a stand-alone subject; Yorkshire: West Riding, North Riding, East Riding.
Jude Rhodes ably began our county series of talks, with a whistlestop tour of the whole of Yorkshire – quite a feat! Her presentation was entitled “Five Strategies for Researching Family History in Yorkshire.” This covered the following points:
