I am a professional Genealogist based close to Stratford on Avon in Warwickshire. I have over 30 years experience researching family histories primarily focussed on the counties of Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, West Midlands and the city of Birmingham.
I have a great deal of experience working in Births, Marriages and Deaths (1837 to present), Census records (1841 to 1911), Parish records 1538 onwards, I also am experienced in researching probate records, and also poor law and workhouse records, settlement orders, bastardy orders and related documents.
I also provide a look up service for all of the midlands archives including the Library of Birmingham, Dudley Metropolitan Archives and the county records offices.
I have a lot of specific knowledge regarding Canadian Home Children, Middlemore Homes, Shustoke Indiustrial Schools and related held at the Wolfson Centre, The Library of Birmingham. Please note that it is not possible to see most records dated after 1918 or any volumes holding material post this date even where these contain earlier material.
I have been able to help people break down their brick walls and am especially keen on working with people who consider that they have a common surname which I confess that I take as a bit of a personal challenge. I am passionate about family history and enjoy undertaking the research I do for my clients as much as I do researching my own family. I am pleased to have been able to act as one of the experts at Who Do You Think You Are Live in 2016 on the Society of Genealogists "Ask The Experts" area.
For more information or to have an informal chat with no obligation please contact me by phone or drop me an email or use the contact form on this page. If you ring and I am unable to take your call please leave me a message and I will call you back.I may well be in a local records centre.

Having found Tony de Maillet through the AGRA web site, our initial discussion covered the areas that we wanted researched, the cost basis of the work to be done and the time scale within which a report could be produced.
In the event we were very pleased too find that we were given regular up-dates on the research so that we were not only able to consider the information as it was uncovered but also to adjust and adapt the research parameters so that the final report - which arrived within the agreed time scale - provided more detail than we originally hoped for.
Monthly invoicing enabled us to ensure that the originally agreed budget was only exceeded with our express agreement when we decided that extra work should be undertaken.
We would happily recommend Tony to prospective new clients and would be more that willing to be contacted should it prove to be helpful
Tony and Lynn Richford
