Ann Ballard L.H.G.

Ann Ballard

I have had a lifetime interest in family history, which became firmly established when family papers and photos from the early 19th century were passed into my safe keeping following the death of my father over twenty years ago. I have gained considerable practical experience in research of my own and extended family histories, and those of others, over many years.

I gained the IHGS Higher Certificate in 2010, the Diploma in Genealogy the following year, and in 2017 I graduated with the Licentiateship in Heraldry and Genealogy.

I established my own business over ten years ago, providing Family History research and training.

I specialise in family history research in South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Somerset (mainly in the Bath area). Please visit my website for more information.

My particular interest is Heraldry, and my thesis for the Licentiateship focussed on both heraldry and genealogical aspects of research.

I have been a tutor for the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies since 2011 for the Higher Certificate Correspondence Course, and also for the Heraldry course since 2016.
