Catriona is a Professional Qualified Genealogist and Family History Researcher based in the West of Scotland who regularly researches in London and across central Scotland. Catriona has expert knowledge in the lives of those who lived through the industrialisation of Scotland and England, when change was seismic in the cities of Glasgow and London during the 19th century, as well as the Irish diaspora and their origins in Ireland, southern or northern.
Catriona has extensive experience in Scottish, Irish and English family history research, and has been researching in these areas for more than 20 years.
Catriona also offers assistance to clients on the analysis of DNA test results.
Catriona's passion for genealogy and family history led her to becoming a Qualified Genealogist and obtaining her Masters degree in Genealogy through the University of Strathclyde in 2021, before setting up her research service, MarpleCat Genealogy.
I was adopted as a baby and as I approached my 80th birthday, I decided to find out about my birth family. I had little information but Catriona quickly unearthed details of my background.
