Charlotte Bouchier

I am an independent Historical Researcher and qualified Archivist based in Herefordshire, England.

My interest in the past led me to gain a first-class degree in History from the University of Leeds, followed by a Master's degree in History of Design from the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal College of Art. My work has encompassed archives, museums, libraries and heritage organisations.

I offer a tailored combination of online and/or archival research for customers worldwide, including private individuals, academics, media professionals, genealogical societies, heritage organisations, and other professional researchers. With access to many online resources, I can answer UK-wide enquiries from home; or, for enquiries concerning the area and surrounding counties, which require access to specific archival documents, I regularly visit:

Herefordshire Archives

Powys Archives

Shropshire Archives

Worcestershire Archives

Visits to Birmingham Archives (The Wolfson Centre for Archival Research) and Gloucestershire Archives can sometimes be arranged; please do ask.

In addition, I can visit corporate, educational, estate, museum and religious archives, historical societies, libraries and special collections in the area.

I can also provide accurate transcriptions of historic documents.

I regularly assist other professional researchers requiring local or desk-based research.

For further details, please visit my website, contact me using the form below, or email me directly.
