Elizabeth Yule

Elizabeth has worked as a professional genealogist since 2008, after graduating with a BA in History from the University of Kent.  She also holds the Diploma in Genealogy from the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS) and the MSc in Genealogical, Paleographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde.  She is a tutor on both these courses, and is currently on the Board of Assessors for AGRA.

She is the lead researcher at Achievements, which was founded in 1961 to support the work of the IHGS. Based in the historic city of Canterbury in Kent, Elizabeth is well placed to utilise the extensive genealogical library at the headquarters of both Achievements and IHGS situated in Northgate, Canterbury.

Elizabeth is a proud East Anglian, with roots in Norfolk and Suffolk and so this area of the country holds especial interest, as does researching non-conformist ancestors. Having said this, the joy of genealogical research is that you never know where the journey will take you!

It is amazing to see my family tree grow far beyond what I ever envisioned it would when I started doing researching myself, 30 years ago now. Thanks, so much, for the latest results. I have found them fascinating and illuminating
