A librarian by profession, I started researching my own family history in the 1990s, and subsequently decided to become a professional genealogist. I was awarded a Diploma in Genealogy by the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS) in 2008 and became a member of AGRA in 2009.

I am the author of two books published by Pen & Sword: Tracing Your Georgian Ancestors 1714-1837: A Guide for Family Historians, which describes the sources and the relevant historical context and is suitable for beginners and experienced researchers alike; and Tracing Your Pre-Victorian Ancestors: A Guide to Research Methods for Family Historians, which is aimed at readers who already have some experience of researching before 1837.
