Ruth has worked hard to research my family history. It’s not been an easy task as my family comes from Ireland & we had no idea whereabouts or when my ancestors moved to York. Ruth has researched deeply into into the records of the census over the years. What has been intriguing has been how the family moved around York & who both Grandparents & my father lived with. I had picked up some stories from them but no clear backup to the stories. Ruth has provided a family tree as well as scans of documents to back her research up.I’m very grateful to Ruth for doing all the research & I would recommend her to anyone who wants to find out their family history.

I wanted to research my family history – I was unsure how to go about it, researching it myself online was an option, but it soon became clear that to do a effective job a great deal of background knowledge about where to find the various bits of essential information would be needed. Essentially I would need to become an “expert researcher” which would be time consuming and uncertain. I needed an expert who could sort it for me.

A friend mentioned Ruth Willmore was such a researcher and gave me her contact details and I got in touch. She visited me and we discussed what aspects of my family history I wanted to know about and I gave her as much information as I had. In a few weeks she had the first results, they were excellent with much information I hadn't expected. In a few further weeks I had final documentation with full family tree, census listings and copies of newspaper stories featuring the family etc.

Her charges were quite reasonable so a few months later I employed her again to do some other family research and again all was well.

I would unhesitatingly recommend using Ruth for this research, she did a very good job that I could never have done myself and at a perfectly reasonable price.

For a long time now I have been interested in finding out who I’m related to on the paternal
side of my family that originated from Scotland. I had one document, a photograph and
some brief information that I was told as a young child. I reached out to Ruth to see if she
could help and after a friendly and informative chat I was happy for her to start the search.
After a few short weeks I received a detailed report, a family tree going back to my great
grandparents and an interesting newspaper article with information from my family history
that I never knew before. The research was all done at a very reasonable price and within
my modest budget, so I’ve asked her to follow one of the family branches a little further. I
am delighted with the service from Ruth and can highly recommend her.
