I have 20 years of extensive experience researching family history, and have been providing professional genealogy services since 2014.
I am professionally qualified. Holding:
• both the Diploma and Higher Certificate in Genealogy from the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies (IHGS).
• a distinction Family History Skills and Strategies Intermediate Certificate from Pharos the Society of Genealogists.
I have deep knowledge of all aspects of genealogy, such as tracing military ancestors, criminal records, non-conformism, migration, land transactions, workhouses and landed gentry.
I constantly use post 1837 civil registration records such as census, civil registration certificates, birth/marriage/death indexes, parish registers and have developed many tricks to find hidden gems and unlock family secrets.
I often use more specialised records such as wills, military, land transactions, manorial records and legal documents to reveal a fuller picture of an ancestor's life and extend family trees to the centuries before 1837.
While I have access to the many online genealogical resources, many more records can only be accessed by visiting archive offices. To get the maximum from these vital original documents, I regularly visit local research archives near me such as the Hampshire and Berkshire Record Offices, and the National Archives at Kew.
I offer a variety of services, from breaking down brick walls in your family tree to producing full family histories, tailored to your needs. I can also create a bespoke family history package—a unique, meaningful and lasting gift for a special occasion.
Please contact me to discuss your requirements. Let me help you discover your family’s past and uncover the stories that shape your heritage.
"Well produced and in depth study of four generations, shedding light on my rather remote and little known family history. Clear family trees and copies of all supporting documents, all beautifully bound, have added to my pleasure in knowing so much more about previous generations".
Charles, West Sussex
Sarah compiled a really detailed family history for me, covering nine generations and several counties in both northern and southern England and in Ireland. She also produced a comprehensive report on one of my Irish ancestors, including his life in Ireland and military service. All of these written reports, charts and copies of the source documents were beautifully presented in a lovely binder. I was so pleased with it all I asked for a copy to give to my father for his birthday and a tailored copy for my uncle. These are treasured by them as much as myself. I highly recommend Sarah.

You’ve put so much work into this, Sarah, I’m so grateful. My mum and aunts were thrilled and blown away by how much information you have found, that nobody else has been able to find. They feel they have a proper identity now, after knowing so little about their father and his family. Seeing the photograph you found was the first time they had seen a picture of their father. I have sent you your well-earned and deserved fee.
