With over 30 years of experience in the field of genealogy, Borders Ancestry specialises in the history of families with ancestral roots in the eastern border counties of Scotland and northern England. Our library contains unique material and many family pedigrees begun over 100 years ago by my own ancestor George Aynsley-Smith, Deputy Steward to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, Durham. In addition we have an extensive database of indexes covering our specialist geographical area, many of which are as yet, unavailable online.
We offer a comprehensive service which covers all aspects of family history, from a free initial consultation to discuss the viability of your project through to a complete family history, with certificates, photographs, any old documents, maps and as much background information as we can find, presented to you in the format of your choice.
All research that is undertaken by us is bespoke, and tailored to the requirement of each individual client.
Please contact us to discuss your personal requirements. We will then discuss your expectations and a detailed research plan together with a quotation will then be prepared for you.
No research will commence until both parties are in agreement as to the objectives and likely outcome of the project is clear. A deposit of 50% will be required before research is commenced with the balance becoming due on completion.
Borders Ancestry adheres to the strict Code of Ethics as set out by the Association of Professional Genealogists and is an Associate Member of AGRA
