Gene Tracers is a small Sole Trader business run by me, Tracey Horrell. I am based in Tilehurst, near Reading, Berkshire, and very close to the Royal Berkshire Archives, formerly the Berkshire Record Office. Most of my research is focussed here at my local archives, but I also travel to Oxford, Hampshire, Chippenham, and London archives by request.
I take on a wide variety of research, from finding a simple baptism, to large family reconstitution projects from the 16-17th centuries, using parish registers, parish chest, probate, manorial, property deeds, and apprenticeship records, to name just a few.
Finally, I can also undertake full family histories for given family lines.
"From the very first contact to the final report I have felt that i have travelled my research project with Tracey. Her communication skills are excellent, her willingness to go the extra mile is to be commended. Her reports are concise , the research exactly to my requests , the photography adds to the whole story and her suggestions at the conclusion re further research are appreciated. Although living in Australia I had no qualms about Tracey being my researcher, she is a true professional in this field. Thank you Tracey your enthusiasm has spurred me on." 2013

"[W]e were both most impressed by how thoroughly everything was researched ...The report you sent us was incredibly detailed and I am very impressed as to your skills and tenacity. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending GeneTracers to anyone looking for a genealogist. Thank you for your professionalism and attention to detail which were much appreciated.", 2013

"Tracey's research proved some family stories and disproved others. The whole extended family was excited to learn that we had (long gone) millions around 200 years back!
Tremendous value, would recommend Tracey to anyone keen to uncover their own family history!" 2015
